"Heeeere's Johnny!"
I finally watched The Shining, and honestly? I think the movie is a bit overrated. Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely not a bad film, but it's also not the masterpiece everyone makes it out to be.
Here is my quick breakdown:
•The Good: The cinematography is really beautiful especially those creepy hallway shots, looks incredible, and I loved the snowy mountains and gorgeous landscape surrounding the hotel. I also found the hotel's architecture and 80s interior design super appealing. I just love watching movies with that kind of aesthetic, and the atmosphere overall is top-tier.
•The Bad: The movie definitely drags in the middle and feels way too long. I found myself checking how much time was left more than once. This is where it lost me a bit.
•The Horror Factor: Everyone talks about how terrifying it is, but for me, it wasn't really that scary. It’s more of a slow psychological trip than a jump-out-of-your-seat horror.
What classic horror movie do you guys think actually lives up to the hype?
